I had a near death experience at age 5. I drowned after the ground gave way beneath me on a beach and sucked me into the ocean like a vacuum, pulling me under. After breathing in the water for several minutes I came out of my body and was watching myself die. At that moment, I felt strong arms wrap around me and pull me back above the water, saving me. There was absolutely no one around me. I thought it was my dad who saved me, but I saw my dad running from the beach screaming my name, jumping into the water. When I got home that night something happened. My dad came into my bedroom to hug me and tell me goodnight. He tucked me in and left my room. In the hug that he gave me, something felt very familiar. I remembered that it was the same feeling that I had when I was saved from drowning. The hug was a father's hug. I knew at that moment that if it was not my dad that saved me, it was my other Dad that saved me. My God-Dad. I have had a very special affection for Him ever since.
